2023 Mitsubishi Outlander 40th Anniversary Will Get a Unique Colour

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Mitsubishi's presence in the U.S., Mitsubishi just launched a special edition of the 2023 Outlander. The 40th Anniversary Special Edition will also be available for the Outlander PHEV featuring a unique two-tone paint job with a bronze-colored roof and a Black Diamond finish for the rest of the body.

This new special edition will be easy to set apart from the other Outlander versions thanks to various 40th Anniversary badges, dynamic shield illumination, door scuff plates, metal cargo scuff plats, center console illumination, chrome outlander hood emblem, and a unique rear bumper protector.

The Outlander 40th Anniversary is based on the SEL Premium version, with a price of $39,995 for the ICE Outlander and a cost of $49,995 for the PHEV version. Of course, these prices are for the U.S. market because Mitsubishi has yet to confirm whether or not the 40th Anniversary Special Edition will be available in Canada.

Each 40th Anniversary Edition Outlander comes fully loaded with a power panoramic sunroof, a Bose Premium sound system, a 10.8-inch head-up display, and Mitsubishi's legendary Super-All-Wheel-Control (S-AWC) system. The interior is dressed with premium materials such as semi-leather-appointed seating surfaces, quilted leather, and more.

ICE or PHEV

In case you didn't know, ICE is the new term used to talk about cars that aren't hybrid or electric. It is basically just a contraction of the Internal Combustion Engine. The ICE 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander is powered by a 2.5-Liter four-cylinder engine producing 181 horsepower and 181 foot-pounds of torque. The power is sent to all four wheels by a CVT transmission.

The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV uses a 2.4-Liter four-cylinder combination of two electric motors. The 2.4-Liter brings about 131 horsepower and 144 foot-pounds of torque on its own. However, the front electric motor adds up another 114 horsepower and 188 foot-pounds of torque, and the rear motor brings 134 horsepower and 144 foot-pounds of torque. However, what makes this version more interesting is the 20.0 kWh battery pack is suitable for storing enough energy to give the Outlander PHEV a 61 kilometers range on EV power only.

A New Head Office

The 40th Anniversary Edition Outlander isn't Mitsubishi's only way to celebrate the 40-year brand presence in North America. The Japanese manufacturer is currently opening its new North American headquarters. Mitsubishi is still a strong brand in the North American market, and the Outlander is definitely a model in its category.
