Mitsubishi launches the first real-time cinematic configurator

The digital era has completely revolutionized the way we shop for a vehicle. While some struggle to adapt to this new reality, others, like Mitsubishi, find rather ingenious solutions. The Japanese manufacturer now offers us a brand new online cinematic configurator that allows you to build your vehicle in an environment that is as close to reality as possible. To do this, Mitsubishi has partnered with a specialized company in the field called Zerolight.
Zerolight offers a customizable experience that allows you to configure your vehicle in dynamic virtual environments. The company even goes so far as to create a microsite where you can find several images and videos of your vehicle in action.
For now, this new configurator is only available for a single model, the Outlander PHEV. This new tool provides a substantially similar experience to a traditional configurator but in a more dynamic and high-definition environment.
A virtual tour
In total, Mitsubishi's configurator allows you to view your vehicle in 5 different environments. The most impressive thing about all of this is that you can choose options while the vehicle is in motion in its virtual universe, making the experience even more prosperous than that of traditional configurators where nothing really moves.
This is not the first time I have tested this kind of technology that uses a virtual universe. Normally, such a system may not work perfectly as it relies on the capabilities of your device. However, in the case of Mitsubishi's configurator, they use cloud-based technology, which ensures maximum fluidity.
Currently, this configurator is only available on the American version of the Mitsubishi website, but there's nothing stopping you from trying it out just for fun. Now, let's hope that the Japanese manufacturer applies the same formula to the rest of its lineup and offers this service in Canada.
